Potential Caswell Dog Park

On September 13, 2011, a motion in support of establishing a, fully fenced, off-leash dog run was passed at the Caswell Community Association AGM by those in attendence.

The concept discussed featured a small, fully fenced area as a place for dogs & owners to be located southwest of the new Mayfair pool.  Such an off-leash area would help address concerns with dogs being off-leash in Ashworth Holmes and would mean Caswell residents would have a nearby safe place to let their dogs off-leash without having to drive long distances.  It would also provide a place for community members to meet and get to know their neighbours.

A meeting with interested Caswell residents was held on September 27, 2011.  James Wilke from the City of Saskatoon attended.  The next steps in this process include drawing up a rough plan of the park and determining support from the surrounding neighbourhood.

Caswell Community Association AGM

Caswell Community Association’s Annual General Meeting will be at 7:30 pm on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at Christ Church Anglican, 515 28th Street West.

Impact the Direction of Your Neighbourhood!

The AGM on September 13, 2011 gives you the opportunity to elect new board members, approve the annual budget and discuss particular projects and issues. Our bylaws state that elections for executive positions shall be held at the Annual General Meeting each year. Adult residents of Caswell Hill are considered members in good standing, eligible to vote and be nominated for election. All executive positions are 1-year terms and nominations may be made from the floor at the AGM.

Message From the Association

Community association boards are ever changing entities; focus shifts with varying projects or programs and executive members come and go over the long and short term. Several veteran members will not be returning for the 2011/2012-year; this is an opportunity for others to fill executive positions and determine the direction our community will take over the coming years. If you have an interest in issues as varied as our annual arts festival, programming, community clean up, 25th Street extension, our newsletter, South Caswell development, or any number of other current and future neighbourhood initiatives this is the perfect time to get involved. Come to the AGM Tuesday September 13, 7:30 p.m. – Christ Church Anglican to put your name forward or vote for your new association executive.

As in years past the association had lots of help from numerous volunteers. THANK YOU to everyone who assisted with the clean up, our 10th annual arts festival, delivered newsletters, ran/coached/instructed programs, etc., etc. Thanks also to various community businesses for supporting all of our events over the last year.

All the best to next year’s new executive!

Art in the Park 2011

Caswell Hill’s 10th annual ART IN THE PARK on June 12, 2011 was another resounding success. Ashworth Holmes Park was lively with festival attendees enjoying six bands and over 65 artists who came out to celebrate a decade of art with the festival.
